I took my beloved mutt, Musetta, out for an early morning walk and was curious about the many helicopters buzzing around the sky. Turns out there was a huge fire burning six blocks away on Queens Boulevard. Firefighters and news crews were still there at noon. Amazingly enough, no one was hurt.
The fire took out a Korean barbeque restaurant, the fruit stand where I buy my mangoes, and, most disturbingly, J.J. Gilligans, the pub that let me and MO'L bring Bentley, his beloved mutt, in for a nightcap last month.
