2/23 - 2/24 Event: Queens Boulevard Pub Crawl (Part 2) Out to prove the point that "too much is never enough," I call up my best girly-friend, GW, and invite her to come along with me for Queens Boulevard Pub Crawl (Part 2). We'll start at Tailors Hall tonight, because we tried to get in during last week's pub crawl, but it was so crowded inside that they turned us away at the door. This week we start early, deciding we need to eat first. We've just been to see "Hannibal" and GW is still feeling a little queasy from the brain-sautee scene, so she opts for a veggie-stuffed potato (which she eyes with understandable suspicion, below). |

It's pretty good, despite the fact that it's most certainly pre-packaged and microwavable. Tailors Hall was named after the oldest guildhall in Ireland. Built in Dublin in 1706, it stands behind a limestone arch in a quiet, cobbled yard. The building served as a place for political meetings; Wolfe Tone addressed his (not yet banned) United Irishmen here before the 1798 rebellion. |
