More Odds and Ends (2001)

The first cruise ship Renato Jr. ever saw, docked in Venezia's laguna.  This is the "Millenium," an American ship out of Monrovia.  Folks waved to us from their cabins, about ten stories above our vaporetto.

Renato and Miles (red team) compete in the "Due Palle" ("Two Balls") game at Miles's birthday party.  They were speedy, but lacked finesse.

Miles tries his hand at "Ti Sboccio" ("I'll knock you").  This proved to be too difficult on sand.

At left, Pontremoli's train station, early morning.  This year they decided not to bother keeping the ticket office open all day.  Now you can only purchase tickets between 5am and noon.

Two unveilings:  below left, Don Lorenzo unveils the memorial to Vittorio Micheli "from his friends" at Pian della Fagiola.  An hour later, Carlo unveils the porchette, below.
